| Light fast tank BT-5 with cylindrical turret was created in the USSR in 1932. It was produced at the Charkov locomotive building plant at the beginning of 1933. The distinctive feature of this tank was a cylindrical turret with a small "stern" niche. It was armed with 45mm gun L-20 and 7,62mm machine-gun DT. This tank was a transitional model between the tank BT-2 and mass-produced tank BT-5 with elliptic turret There were produced some dozens of this modification. It is known that some machines took part in the WWII. On the basis of this tank there were developed a lot of experimental modifications, such as: BT-5IS and HBT-5, underwater moving tank BT-5PH and some other.
