GRN-002 1/72 P-80C Shooting Star US Jet Fighter model kit
In July 1944, Germany Air Forces started up serial production of Me-262 jet lighter lieing capable to night with the speed of 540 km/h. Taking this fact into consideration, Amiy Air Corps make its order in Lockheed Company to design and produce the jet fighter.

In January 08, 1944, on the 203rd day from the contract's signing, XP-80 took off and reached the speed of 502 km/h. It was of prototype of P-80 Shooting Star. But the aircraft was late to take part in the 2nd World War. In the period of 1945 - 1955 P-80 was being built in three modification : ?, ? and C. The last one was tlie most developed modification, lately, ail produced fighters was converted into modification C. in the course of testing flight of P-80A, on 06.08.1945, Richard Bong Major perished, the most resulting American pilot of the 2nd World War. Ir. 1948, all P-80 and also alt aircraft of fighter type were named with new mark "F" in US Air Forces.
In 1950 the Korean War began and F-80 became a jet fighter which was first one on war duty in the sky of Korea. The air battle firstly won by F-80 Shooting Star took place in 25.07.1950. In the North-Eastern region of Korea, which known as "Alley Mig", the first battle ot jet fighters happened. In that day, 08.11.1950, lieutenant Russell Brown, the 16th interceptor-fighter squadron, brought down MiG-15.
