AMO-7259 1/72 AVRO-504K WW1 trainer biplane model kit
Development of the Avro 504 was started in April 1913 and within 12 weeks AV Roe had commenced flying trials at Brooklands. The Avro 504 became the most widely used British trainer during the First World War, and laid the foundations of formal flying training that were to persist for more than 30 years.

The 'K' model was introduced in 1917 and featured a new type of of universal engine mounting, consisting of two bearer plates which would accept any suitable engine. Also featured was the 'Gosport' Speaking Tube which enabled the flying instructor to communicate with his pupil in flight for the first time.
