BT tanks in 30th years made a basis of tank formation of Red Army. To the beginning qf the Second World War it was produced about 7500 of this tanks (more than 5000 of BT-7 different modifications). Tank BT-7 is differed from the previous models by a design of the body, the new engine and a number of other changes. In 1937p BT-7 was equipped with turret of 7-26-4 with gun KT-28. This new modification was numbered BT-7A (artillery). Its arms consist of 76,2-mm gun and 2x7,62-mm machine gun. The tank in weight of 13,5 tons had the maximal speed 51,6/72km/h. The tank had the advanced aviation engine M - 17T with capacity of 500 h.p. The crew consists of three men. Light wheel-tracked BT tanks are "descendants" of American tank "Kristie". A part of battle tanks was armed with an antiaircraft machine gun.
