Boyarin is one of four 2nd class cruisers constructed with in the bounds of the shipbuilding program of 1898. She was with the Russian Navy hardly more than a year and left memories of herself perhaps only by her mysterious coming to the world and disappearance. The author of the monograph that is based on the documents of the Russian .State Archives of the Navy discovers these mysteries to the benefit of the public interested in the naval history. Both the notable events of the short service life of the ship and interesting details of her arrangement and architecture are described as well.
