This book sets out to give an outline of the history, current state and perspectives of the naval aviation of Russia. Apart from being concerned with the scientific and technological aspects of development of naval airplane and helicopters, the book dwells on multi-role seaplanes and amphibians and score-based naval aviation. Ample space is given to the novel types of planes and helicopters carried abroad heavy carrier cruisers. A separate section is dedicated to the so-called ekranoplanes or airfoil craft, the unique multi-mission interface vehicles holding much promise for the future. The book is lavishly illustrated and addressed to the wide sections of readers.
