Tupolev Tu-16 became the first Soviet mass production Jet bomber. It was developed by Tupolev design bureau in the very beginning of the 50's. There were 1500 planes built in total. While being in Soviet service this planes took part in Alganistan war. In Russia the last Tu-16s were removed from service in 1994. This aircraft were also exported to Egypt, Indonesia, Iraqi, China and Livia.
Normal bomb load — 3000 kg, maximum bomb load - 9000 kg. The aircraft was capable to carry conventional bombs, torpedoes, sea mines, cruise missiles or nuclear bomb. Defensive armament consisted of 3 pairs of NR-23 23 mm cannons in turrets and one NR-23 fixed canon in the nose.
Power plant - two AM-3 turbojet engines, maximum fuel load - 34360 kg, crew - 6 men.
