Summary
The Pz.lV/70(V) tank destroyer became one of the last production models of the Third Reich's armour. Despite it was a typical wartime ersatz-weapon, this example embodied in its design quite a number of innovative solutions that were later widely used in development of armoured vehicles by the Soviet Union, the United States, Great Britain and France. This book describes the development and employment of the Pz.lV/70(V) tank destroyer. In addition to 139 photographs of the Pz.lV/70(V) in combat and drawing of the example displayed at the Kubinka tank museum, there are drawings of the primary production versions of the Pz.lV/70(V) tank destroyer as well as colour pictures of its camouflage pattern.

Illustrations
1. Pz.lV/70(V) of the first series of production on the Western Front. The tank is equipped with four support rollers and tubby muffler in the likeness of Pz.Kpfw IV Ausf.H/J earlier models. All of support rollers are rubberised
2. Pz.lV/70(V) tank killer abandoned by its crew. Vie the Lake Balaton, March 1945
3. Pz.lV/70 (V) vehicle of the second series (released in September-November 1944) is displayed in different perspectives. The muffler is made in the museum and doesn't correspond to the original construction
4. Pz.lV/70 (V) side view. The model of the middle period with 3 supporting rollers and uncoated rollers of front trolleys is displayed in the museum
5. A Pz.lV/70(V) tank destroyer from the 2. SS-Panzer-Division Das Reich. The vehicle was built in November or December 1944. It features skirts, which was a rarity. Tactical number "923" is painted red. Hungary, in the vicinity of Lake Balaton, mid-March 1945
6. The tank destroyer from the 23. Panzer-Division. The photograph, from which artistic reconstruction of the tank's paintjob was made, shows the registration number of a Soviet trophy team - 222 and 37 - painted over German tactical number 331. The vehicle was built in November 1944 but it features roadwheels of the same type as early-production vehicles had. Hungary, in the vicinity of Lake Balaton, mid-March 1945
