The Praga tank (the German designation is PzKpfw 38{t)) was designed by CKD works in 1938. The first vehicles were produced in spring 1939 and entered German service immediately. 38(t) tanks were used by German, Hungarian, Romanian, Slovakian, Bulgarian armies at the initial period of WW tl (1939-1942). They were also exported to Sweden, Switzerland, Peru, Iran and other states.
38 (t) was used by Panzerwaffe in Polish campaign in 1939, in France in 1940, in the Balkans in 1941. 623 PzKpfw 38(t) took part in operation Barbarossa. Possessing exellent tactical and technical characteristics: speed, manoeuvrability, armor protection, armament and high reliability, Praga tank was the best light tank of the initial period of WW II ideally suitable for blitzkrieg operations.
