EST-72303 1/72 Antonov An-74 Arctic cargo aircraft model kit Arctica An 74 - represents a new aircraft genei ation of the Antonov Design Bureau The first aircraft of the great family of An-74 aircrafts is an An-72 aircraft the fust light military transport turbojet aircraft of short take off and landing in the Soviet Union. This aircraft is constructed with the purpose of providing the research worK in Central Arctic Region basin and Antarctic Region carrying out the ice reconnaisanse desant of cargos transports during organizing of drift-ice research units at an/ time of year and at ary time of day and night under easy and difficult meteorological conditions from unpaved ice and snow covered aerodroms and grounds. An 74 aircraft is made according to plan of high-wing plane with two D-36 bypass turbojets mounted above the wing with T-tail unit. The aircraft wing has unslotted flaps on the midwing plane and three-slotted flaps on the cantilever part extensible slats and interceptors. By the An 74 family aircrafts 17 world records were established. Nowdays more than one hundred fifty An 74 aircrafts ano their modifications are used.
