Tank mine roller PT-3 was developed on the eve of Second World war at a factory "Dormashina" at Nikolaev. Mine roller PT-3 maintained from 3 up to 5 explosions (detonations) then required under repair or replacement. During war its design was constantly improved.
The summer of 1943 generated the first regular engineering parts. Mine roller PT-3 basically was mounted on the Soviet tanks T-34 and IS. Mine roller were widely used into approach operations. The engineering tank squads actively participated in clearing Ukraine, Byelorussia and countries of East Europe.
