Heavy Tank KV-1 ("Klim Voroshilov") - first domestic heavy tank having one-turret layout.
Is introduced to the inventory in 1939. In 1941 the tank was let out from 76,2 mms by a gun of ZiS -5 with an ammunition load in 114 outrigger booms and armour protection of a bodyreinforced padding 25 mms screens. The early version of KV-1 model 1942 is characterized by new cast tower with an established gun of ZiS -5 with course and fodder machine guns DT 7,62. On the turret hatch the zenith machine gun was usuallyset.
In 1940-1942 is issued about 4800 tanks KV of different modifications. The tanks KV were widely applied in combats of an initial stage of Great Domestic war.
