Mil Mi-1 became the first serial helicopter in the USSR. The Mi-1 made its first lift-off in September 1948 and the serial production began in 1951. In 1957 the Mi-1M with larger cockpit and improved avionics entered production lines. The Mi-1M served with Warsaw Pact nations as well as Austria, North Korea, Afghanistan and Syria.
